Gill is definitely not a sehwag when it comes to technique. The slightest of comparison can be made regarding both players feet movement and hand eye coordination. Apart from that, Sehwag is a big time player through the square of off side who likes to open the face of the bat. Gill is more of a puncher, who likes to force the ball through the off side(a bit similar to Babar assam). Sehwag rarely plays the hook or pull shot, but Gill is a natural puller and hooker of the cricket ball. The comparison is a bit similar to the Hayden, Warner comparison. These sort of comparisons comes from people who have very little knowledge about the game. I strongly believe that Gill is gonna improve his foot work a great deal over the years and we might be seeing the onset of a great test batsman.
