you were right about the calico cats! the trait for fur color in those cats are only on the x chromosome, so a cat would need to have 2 X chromosomes to have both colors and be considered calico. the only way a male cat could be calico is if they have a deficiency (which doesn't really negatively affect the cat) where they have an extra chromosome, so they are XXY and both colors are present on each of the x chromosomes. The end scene when Joe helps 22 begin her life on earth and they are falling together, I felt like that spoke very much to the idea of parenthood. Joe says he'll go with 22 "as far as he can" paralleling how parents guide us towards beginning our lives as far as they can. They are there to hold your hand, to ease your fears, give part of themselves to you so you can live in the best way possible. Like Ben, that was the most emotional moment for me.

I don’t think there is much to decode. The tradition of the hat is just kept secret my school tradition. When it comes to higher education and private schools there are some things you just don’t talk about. This allows for your own child to experience it the same way. Sadly due to legal issues, many of these secret traditions have become public and lost their charm. Hogwarts probably had legal issues which is why everyone knows about it and Harry can tell his children about it.
