My first comment ever; I'm one of those who's been watching you from the beginning, Shawn. I came across you during a stressful time, and found some solace in watching you work and doing what you do. There's something inexplicably calming about watching someone carefully whittling and carving a simple door handle for the log cabin he built from the ground up all by himself. Truly sorry to hear that neighbors present and future have made it necessary to walk away and start over again. There are over a million and a half of us now who are invested, and quietly cheering for you from all over the world. Keep living your best life; it's an inspiration to us all.

People like the idea of moving to a remote area during a pandemic, but after a year or two of bugs, broken water lines, power outages, isolation, medical attention... they'll move. In my experience the guys are able to handle the isolation better can even thrive.

I love watching your adventure, love your homestead and so sorry you had such a difficult time with your neighbor. Wishing you the best life in your new cabin. Iam confused though, I am having a difficult time finding the new build from the old. Can you mark your videos as cabin 1 and cabin 2 or something like that. Have you thought about innoculating wood with mushrooms? oyster mushrooms even like the cold. I think this might be a good part of sels sustainable nutrition. Out of 1 qubic meter wood you can grow up to 250kg fresh mushrooms over 7 years.

God back to my my main man thought I lost his voyage. So bored with others. You see achievements and the goals of oven making, other buildings such as wood shed outhouse and what was sweet was when the women finally cane to see you. Please help us to watch how you find food not animals but plants and fungus. I love your golden retrievers I had one called White Foot his all four feet white he died and to this day I can’t release my hurt of his death. Seeing your dogs makes me feel he is still with me. Sir, you are a first class example for me. I am sorry that happened, however the fresh start for a self reliant men should be no trouble, at all. I just hope this new location you chosen is further away from the city (by a lot), since this covid19 thing will likely change some things permanently. This is the first video I've watched from your channel. Got to say really good content. One thing you said during the explanation irked me a little, why would you unsubscribe because of something like that? surely it would mean there's more interesting content to come with the rebuild? I have horrible neighbors too so I get it. Wish I could move but id lose alot of money. They and their families and friends have been moving all around my neighborhood, I have them on all sides even in the neighborhood behind me. They have police family and connections who dont help and dont care. They bully me with liud high pitch noises and hack into my debices and tvs. Theyve broken into my house and garage. And on and on..and even mess with my alarm and cameras then they just stoke them.. I could keep going..I haveti tinnitus and headaches and nausea from the weird sound.. And more things..They seem to have many connections including military. The wife would brag that her husband has a very " Large Family" and that they can do whatever they want to anyone including the government and that no one can stop them. I pray they will all get busted and caught red handed and go to jail where they belong. Horrible monsters!

Totally understand your position. I had a cottage near Barrie where factors made staying there unrealistic. Hindsight, it was a good decision. My Self Reliance 2.0 in progress! No man is an island. Ultimately humanity is going to invade even the most isolated regions of the planet. You'll move and in a few years planning permission will be given for the construction of new highways and communities. Even if territory looks 'virgin' now it's no guarantee that it will remain that way; State Planning Offices make new decisions every month. Only the moon affords relative isolation but you're going to experience a terrible shortage of trees.
