The fact that you keep on saying: Stay home, wear masks, and then you go out? However, you took this very maturely, and made an apology. This is one of the best apologies I've seen from people who went out. The others were trash, so bad, that they probably never meant it. But this apology hits different. Yes, I'm disappointed, but I'm glad you are aware of your mistake.

This is such horseshit. My best friend's husband just buried his 57 year old father. His wife, his daughters, his son, his friends, and community are SUFFERING and you spew out lessons to everyone else that you don't practice yourself as if the CDC guidelines don't apply to you, when in fact, they should apply to you more HEAVILY considering that you're a freaking doctor! This apology was pathetic and filled with nonsense excuses.

As a health care professional, you should know well enough to know that masks are ineffective, COVID-19 is nowhere near as deadly as the media wants you to believe and that you have nothing to apologize for. Don’t feed into democratic propaganda.

I usually do not comment, but I thought I had to this time. I’m still going to school and really looked up to Dr. Mike. His videos helped me through hard times, and made me really look up to him and respect him. After I saw this video which I only found out about TODAY, it didn’t even make me angry, just disappointed. I’m sorry but I can’t watch his videos anymore without thinking about this.

Jesus you guys, I admit it's weird that he didn't post this on his main channel but all of you saying "I don't hear an apology, just excuses" lol He said he is sorry numerous times, that he learned from that mistake and will do better. What more do you want? He admitted he messed up. It's like we're in this world of cancel culture and all you want is to just cancel someone. I am also a follower of your video's and indeed appreciated your view on things. So naturally I was very dissapointed to find out about that party. Eh. Still gonna support, watch, enjoy your content. Humans make mistakes. Save who we can but fight for those we can't. At least you thought of making this video instead of evading it and putting it off for an extremely long time like a certain youtuber (If you know, you know). Now to address the rest of us. Sure he made a mistake, but at least he went through each meticulous step such as checking guidelines, testing people, so on, even getting himself tested. He took precautions, he was making sure each step he took was measured. He made a simple mistake, one that will disappear as we all age. Even if this occurred over a week, that's still a minuscule amount of time compared to the grand range that is our lives. A Single Week in an 80-Year Life Span is nothing. Like an Ant to a Car. He lives alone so he’s not putting anyone at risk? How about his patients? I’m assuming he does more than USmuchs. Maybe not. As a public figure and a doctor, you are held to the higher standard of guidelines and rules that you preach to your followers and patients. I am not throwing shade here. I have one question that you need to ask yourself. And to answer only to yourself. Would you have come out with a public apology had you not been “caught” breaking your own rules? I respected you for being one of the handful of professionals in the medical field to sound the first alarm and to support strict health care protocols at the onset of CoVID-19 outbreak. I lost work opportunities, have estranged friends and families, missed visitations to ill friends and relatives because I followed the same health care protocols. Over the past 12 months, I haven't traveled farther than 2 miles from home to reduce the risk of catching the virus. I limit my travels to bare essential needs basis, and when I do, I try to protect myself as best I can that sometimes I look like I wear HAZMAT suit when I go out. I, like many during this pandemic, slowly becoming stir crazy, being limited in our mobility and recreational opportunities. I'm 100% sure I'm not alone in this situation, believing that your audience and yourself is in the same boat. And then you went to board a different boat in Miami, disregarding social distancing measures, maskless, swept the fact under the rug and made this half-cocked, self-serving, sad excuse of an apology. This hurts me in so many ways. It hurts that for all the talk about responsibility, accountability and ethics that you champion on your channel, you seem to think that all of these things don't apply to you, in several occasions now (remember that reaction video beef with a certain medical doctor? or that time you backed off from an interview and allegedly made a slanderous remarks about a booking agent?). I'm UNSUBSCRIBING to your channel until you are fully aware of the impact of your poor decision in taking part in the event and handling this situation. Others in the comment section have pointed out what you need to do: bring this issue to the main channel, make an ACTUALLY SINCERE apology, and face the crowd.

Sorry Mike, but if you really were sorry you would have put your “official” apology on your main channel and not your secondary channel. Yes, we’re all human and as such fallible, but you took a deliberate calculated risk. You could have been asymptotic and passed COVID to someone else and so on. Being young isn’t a defence to fend off COVID or to fail in your downtime responsibilities. Yes, your actions, and lack of, do carry significant consequences. Even if you didn’t have COVID, someone else could have and even with PPE, you could have unintentionally passed it on to a patient or a member of the public. If you’re truly sorry, then make it official on your main channel. I don’t think your channels should be cancelled, but a real way to make up for your error is to also do a range of interviews where people have contracted COVID from not adhering to basic precautions, donating at least 6 months of your channels earnings to a variety of local charities (you could even do one a month), issuing a proper apology on your main channel and finally and also demonstrate what you’re doing by way of self reflection on your main primary channel. That said, good luck nonetheless in life, in your medical practice and for the future.

All of us have messed up at one point in our lives. None of us are righteous enough to be the first one to pick up a stone and throw it to Dr. Mike for in the entirety of our lives we cannot confidently say that the lives we live are always clean and free from blemish. As a teacher who fears for the life of my family and myself every time I go to work (because I have to go to work because people like you have pushed so hard for in-person education), I’m disappointed in the level of hypocrisy but also at the number of justifications and pretending that you’ve followed guidelines. There’s no justification for your actions. We’re all sick of this, yet some of us continue to choose to do the right thing and protect those around us.

I don’t agree with most of that comments as you’re young and healthy and catching COVID in your case will VERY likely be like a flu or completely asymptomatic. As young healthy individuals we can’t live in fear and isolate ourselves from ALL human relationships because that will have much greater consequences for our mental health than a flu. test kits are scarce and rationed in america. so putting yourself in a position where you need testing is also harmful given that it was used to protect a recreational purpose. when people do testing for parties and other recreational activities it reduces the availability of test kits for people that need it, put undue strain on labs and lab workers and reduces the efficiency of testing because it leads to a lag in test results. one of the ways to combat covid is expediency in testing. the sweet spot for turn around is 48 hours for the gold standard pcr. but when labs are overwhelmed, this is not possible. so sticking to the assurance that everyone was safe and test is STILL a stressor on the system. Testing does not mean your activities had no impact on the pandemic. it did.

Hello everyone, I have been reading all the disappointed comments but just say that u haven't done something wrong ever the truth and I will say u r right but here is my opinion: I know and understand some of ur situations and let me tell u this everyone makes mistakes! A lot of you sound like you're taking you're anger out of him. Given what happened I think we all would have done the same. If my parents surprised us with a log cabin with more than enough room for me and my extended family we probably would have ran with it. Happily ate with our family, watched movies, played games, hell even played games. It sounds like a dream come true especially since we haven't seen or been with one another since February, people we used to spend sundays with, people who always spend time with us and who were always there when we needed them. We can be mad at him all we want, but we would have all done the same if we could. He looks almost happy at mentioning his friends, their surprise for him. He was happy at that moment and forgot about the pandemic in that moment. He was human and made a human mistake.

I am struggling to want to keep engaging with your content again. People certainly make mistakes, including hypocrisy, but this barely seems like an apology given that the first half is just justifications, you've hidden this away on your MUCH smaller channel and you demonstrably did not follow guidelines (nevermind your own advice) for anyone who looks at the photos and can count into double digits. This just seems like a "I'm sorry...errr...(for getting caught)." There are millions of people who in similar moments also think that the rules don't apply to them and that's where you've been the voice that may have swayed some to think twice and do better. But when you've chosen to be in the public space with a position of authority and do the opposite of what you urge others to do, you've destroyed the merit of your words and instead show people that "oh it's actually okay to make this exception for myself".
